The temple town of Kanchipuram witnessed the divine Gaja Vahana Utsavam of Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal as part of the Brahmotsavam this evening (19 Feb. 2021). Sitting majestically atop the Elephant, Goddess Kamakshi Amman went around the Raja Veedhis in a royal manner, with devotees offering their prayers all through the Mada and Raja Veedhis. The melliflous notes of Nadaswaram heralding Her arrival was a treat for the ears. Utsava Vigraham of Jagadguru Adi Shankara Bhagavadpadacharya led the procession as is customary.

Ambal retreated to the temple after the utsavam. Tomorrow will witness the Soorya Prabhai Vahanam. Decked in strings of color lights, the entire temple including the Gopurams too dazzled to match the Glory of its presiding deity.
