Glory of Kamakshi Temple

Kanchipuram is one of the Seven Mokshapuris and one of the 51 Shakti Peethas (Ekkavan-Shaktipeeths). Goddess Parvati has herself performed penance to Lord Shiva at Kanchipuram in the form of a Prithivi Linga.

Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya himself drew the Shri Chakra in front of Kamakshi Ambal, and since then, the Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham has been the spiritual head and Dharmakarta of Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal Temple.

Following the renovation, repairs, and enhancements carried out in the temple recently, the customary rejuvenation and spiritual recharging of the temple is planned through the Ashtabandhana Kumbhabhishekam of Shri Kamakshi Devi Temple in Kanchipuram on Thursday, the 9 th February 2017 with the benign blessings and by the divine hands of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Jagadguru Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal and Jagadguru Pujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal
